Tips for staying safe during COVID-19

As a 24-year firefighter and the owner of a sanitizing and decontamination business
many people have ask me how to stay safe during the COVID crisis.
As a firefighter and family man I try to follow these guidelines and tips at work and home
to keep not only myself and family healthy but to help stop the spread of this horrible
disease. Specialists such as doctors and the CDC have come out with guidelines and
advice for us to follow:

 Get a COVID-19 vaccine. (I realize each person has a right to choose what is
best for themselves so please make this decision based on your own beliefs)
 Wear a mask to protect yourself and others and stop the spread of COVID-19.
 Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who do not live with you.
 Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces. The more people you are in contact
with, the more likely you are to be exposed to COVID-19.
 Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your
nose, coughing, or sneezing.
 If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that
contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub
them together until they feel dry.
 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
 Remove shoes at your door. If you have toddlers keep in mind that you
are carrying in bacteria and tracking it on the floor.
 Get plenty of rest and eat healthy, stay hydrated, and take your vitamins to
keep your immune system healthy.
 Clean and sanitize your home and workplace on a regular basis.
